LOTS of Boys for Adoption! Our special adoption event went well, but we’ve received just as many new ferrets as we adopted out! Right now we remain full and are unable to accept more ferrets until some find homes. Listed below are the animals currently here. If you’re interested in adding to your family and live locally, PLEASE contact us right away to set up an interview. All FACT ferrets come with their canine distemper vaccination, a sample of the food they are currently eating, pet store coupons & bonuses. Please use this link to request an adoption application and set up an interview appointment. We have a couple events for area readers coming up in September. Read about them at right. For those of you in “ferret-Free Zones, or who are interested in legalization issues, on September 25th the California Domestic Ferret Educational Alliance will be announcing the results of the Environmental Impact Report they commissioned about the potential impact of domestic ferrets on the environment in California. You can read more on their website. On an associated note, Ferrets USA will be publishing my article “Is Your Ferret Legal?” in the annual issue. It delves into a lot of the background of why ferrets were banned in different places. Look for it in your local pet store. L. Trouble – male, platinum silver, about 3 years old. Abandoned at Branford Animal control. Trouble is a nice fellow who may beat up other ferrets at first, but once he’s been declared “Boss” is fine with them. Very sweet and loves to kiss! Odette – female, 1 year, sable badger. Odette was abandoned in a cage next to a dumpster. She has learned to hold her own with all the boys. Mork the Meek – A bouncy fellow of 2 years, sable with mitts. Was found outside, starving. Now pudgy and playing! Of the 9 ferrets were abandoned together in a box at an apartment complex, these are the remaining boys. They all get along well with other ferrets, are nice, and could go as pairs or to current ferret-owning households. They are:
Mack & Mable - Chocolate & platinum silver, male and female. About 1-2 years old. Found abandoned near a dumpster in Danbury apartment complex. Cute! Can go together or split with others. KnockKnock - Sable mitt male, about 1 year. Knocked on New Britain lady’s door until she let him in! Chaplin & Keaton - Sable mitt and silver badger males, 1-2 years. Abandoned outside apartment complex in Naugatuck. Newfie – BIG boy about 1 year old. Found outside and just arrived, his thin hair and waistline will improve with good food & clean conditions. Goldfinger – Named for his pretty gold coat, not for villany! A very handsome champagne/light chocolate fellow about a year old, abandoned at a pet store. |
