Give a Little, Get a Little—the FACT Summer Fundraiser

When you enter a benefit drawing and don’t win, aren’t you kind of disappointed—even though the money’s going to a good cause? Everyone’s a winner* with this fundraiser—you and shelter ferrets!

For each $10 donated, you are guaranteed a gift. You can choose either a furry rattle toy or a polar pouch sleep sack shipped to you for free. PLUS, you get 2 entries into a drawing for three terrific prizes.

Mix and match! If you give $20, you get 2 toys, 2 pouches, or one of each. And your 4 entries can go into the drawing for different prizes, or in for only one. If you don’t need any ferret goodies, check the box and they’ll be sent to a needy ferret. ALL donations are welcome, but we’ll only award gifts based on multiples of $10.

Entry gifts will be sent out as donations are received. Drawing will take place September 1.

Drawing Prizes

A. Rare Limited Edition Lithographic Print

Created by artist Elaine Verstraete, this print sold for $75 in a ferret supply catalog back in 1988. It’s no longer made as the litho stone has been destroyed. If you want one, you can try to pry it out of someone else’s stash—OR you can win one here. FACT hunted down Elaine, purchased the last few, and placed them in OUR stash. Now we’re making one available to our wonderful donors.

This is an artists’ proof, one of a small number of test prints made by the artist. Proofs may differ slightly from the final edition and are often considered more valuable. The print is signed in pencil and marked “AP” for Artist Proof. The last print I saw for sale or raffle was in 2000. So this is a prize as special as YOU are!

Overall size, including the 4” white border, is 18” tall x 33” wide. Unframed; will be mailed in a shipping tube.

B. Play Yard

Made for kids but marketed for pets and ferret-safe! Sturdy modular playpen folds & assembles without tools. Made of plastic so the little darlings can’t climb the sides. 26” high with an interior area of 18.5 square feet. A carry strap is included. This sells on Amazon for over $50. Note: Amazon sells expansion panels starting at $21.

C. Model Tent

Have you ever seen the scale model tents used as store displays and thought “How cool would that be for my ferrets?” Stores don’t sell them - manufacturers require models be returned. You can find a few on Ebay, but prices start at $50 and go way up from there. FACT got our little paws on a great big one!

This Hillary brand display tent measures 28”’ wide, 18” high, and 20: deep. It has zippers, flaps, netting, and looks and works just like a real tent. Sides, top & bottom are nylon and the frame is sturdy metal pipe. Though we can’t guarantee your ferrets won’t destroy it, we CAN guarantee they’ll have a good time doing so!

Toy Fuzzy Rattle

Plush toy filled with a ferret-safe plastic film canister containing dried beans. Fully machine washable./dryable.

Pouch Sleeper

Approx. 14” square pouch made of soft double-sided fleece. Assorted colors/patterns

Bedding for Other Shelters

In mid-June, FACT shipped 80 pounds (!) of gently used bedding collected from us and local volunteers to other ferret shelters across the country in need. If you don’t want or need the donation gifts shown above, your contribution will help fund the $100 shipping cost. (We’ll still enter you in the prize drawing!) In total, the 8 shelters we donated goods to are caring for over 350 animals.
