Humor—New Product of the Month
By L. Vanessa Gruden. Paw Printz, September-October, 2001

Marshall Farms pet product line has announced a new “deterrent” to keep ferrets from pooping in cage corners instead of using their litter box.  Now, normally, FACT prefers not to advertise for Marshall Farms products because of their history of using ferrets for personal profit, but this one was so funny I wanted to share it with readers.

A long, thin spring with hooks on either end, this product is intended to be stretched across cage corners to stop a ferret for pooping in an unwanted area of your cage.

If you know ANYTHING about ferrets, you will immediately recognize that a spring stretched across a desired corner will NOT be any kind of deterrent.  In fact, I will bet you a healthy sum of cash that the ferret will simply poop upon the spring, rendering it not only useless, but disgusting.

My personal thanks this month to Marshall Farms, who provided me with the biggest laugh I have had in ages.
